he track at Assen in The Netherlands, mainly known for motorcycle racing, is often referred to as the ‘Cathedral of Speed’ – quite a claim! In 2019, the DTM held its first event at the famous TT Circuit and the debut was an instant success. Indeed, the impressive facility – state-of-the-art notwithstanding its long heritage – is unique and challenging. The grandstand along the start and finish straight is one of the longest in Europe and the Ramshoek corner ranks among the fastest corners on the DTM calendar. Moreover, the pretty town of Assen is within easy reach from Germany as well, particularly from the northern and western parts. Definitely worth a visit!
